Getting You Site Indexed By The Search Engines

June 19th, 2009

Part I

This is the first article in a six part series on how you can get indexed in the most important search engines on the internet. These search engines include Google, Yahoo, MSN, Exactseek, and Alexa. These sites cover over 80 percent of the searches done on the internet, so it’s well worth the effort to prepare your site correctly, and submit it to these search engines.

Before you do any kind of promotion on the internet, you need to make sure that your site is properly prepared for the search engines. The reason is that the search engines will be the main way that others find you on the internet.

If you haven’t optimized your site for the search engines, now is the time to do it.

There are two tools that you can use, that are absolutely free, to optimize your website. Keep in mind that your main focus should be on optimizing individual pages for various keyword terms on your topic.

Good Keywords – http://www.goodkeywords.com – This tool will tell you what others are searching for, as well as how often the search terms are searched for in a month. Windows.

Web CEO – http://www.webceo.com – This software suite will not only help you optimize your pages for the search engines, but it will help you find link partners, as well as keyword terms, and you can use it to submit to other lesser known search engines. Windows and MAC.

It is beyond the scope of this article to teach you how to optimize your site for the search engines. Web CEO contains step by step documentation that will teach you everything you need to know about search engine optimization.

What’s important here is that you find out specifically what keywords and keyword phrases searchers are looking for when searching. If you optimize your site for the wrong keyword search terms, either no one will find you, or you will have so much competition, you won’t be able to get your site to rank very high.

Most searchers won’t go beyond the first three pages of results. Rank below this, and you’ll have a tough time being found.

Another important point to remember is that each of the main search engines is different. You can optimize your site for Google, which is the most important search engine right now, but you can optimize your site for indexing in all of the major search engines if you do it right.

Avoid techniques like keyword stuffing, redirect pages that are unrelated to your site, and junk pages. Multiple domains pointing to the same site or a mirror site are a definite no no.

Although there is some debate these days about using other writers’ articles because of the duplicate content rule, remember that all of the major search engines are full of duplicate content.

Using articles written by other authors is a great way to provide value to your site visitors, but you will want to write a few of your own articles. By writing your own articles, you can optimize them for your keyword terms, something you can’t do with other writers’ articles.

When you write your articles, convert them to HTML and then use Web CEO to optimize them for your keyword terms. Make sure you focus on no more than two to three terms per page, or you will have problems optimizing your page. You want your articles to make sense, and you want them to provide value to your readers.

Finally, once you’ve optimized your site, you’ll want to make sure that you submit them to the major search engines. Although there is some debate these days over whether or not this is necessary, the major search engines aren’t perfect, and they don’t always update properly.

Once you’ve submitted your sites, you can move on to the next steps in your internet marketing campaign. Resubmit only when you’ve made major changes to your sites.keyword elite

Search engine optimization and submission is a long term marketing strategy. Good ranking, as well as good coverage of your site won’t happen overnight. It will happen though if you stick to good search engine optimization techniques to improve your site’s ranking.keyword elite

Using Subdomains To Bypass Googles Sandbox

June 17th, 2009

There was apparently some talk at SES Chicago on getting a site indexed in regular results a lot quicker. This involved the use of an existing established similar domain (either one you own or one you bought) and use it to help you get a site out of the “sandbox.” The full forum post can be found here.

The technique is in the gray-to-black range. I wanted to mention that first, however if your site has been boxed for a while, this may be an alternative for you. It also requires some coding, and assumes your site is built in PHP although I would also guess there is similar ASP code out there.

First lets look at how this works: You have an established related domain and a new domain which is ‘boxed. By establishing a subdomain on the established site and mirroring the content of the new domain there you will get the new subdomain indexed more quickly because it would inherit some of the trust of the main domain.

Once it has established itself you would use some form of redirect (likely a 301) to redirect crawlers to the new domain. The new domain then inherits whatever the subdomain gained in terms of link popularity transferred from the established, trusted domain.

Sounds simple, but there are a few things you need to do.

First, obviously, is to find an established domain. If you need to buy an expired but still relevant site (and it’s in your budget) the author recommends you do so. You would also not change the registrar information, according to the author (this would be considered in that dark gray range).

You don’t want to change the registrar information because there is a chance that Google will notice the change in ownership and any trust the domain you just bought has previously earned would likely be lost.

So lets say you just bought a related domain that’s been around for a couple years and has a PageRank 5. by leaving the site intact and not changing the registrar information you are essentially ensuring the site maintains its existing stature in the engines.

Then you will create a subdomain on the site. Here you will place a mirrored copy of all your content navigation, etc. from your new site. Since the new site hasn’t been added to the index yet there will not be a duplicate content penalty.

You will also use some PHP coding to change the page header information to fool the webserver into thinking the page was created earlier than it was (the suggested PHP code is found in the forum post linked above). By telling the webserver the pages are old, you are informing the crawler that the pages are old as well.

This is because the crawler requests this information from the webserver at the time of indexing.

Because you’ve established a completely new section within an established domain the new section will get indexed sooner than the new domain.

It will inherit link popularity and trust from the parent domain allowing it to establish itself more quickly than the new site.

Once the subdomain has been fully indexed by Google you will want to redirect it to the new domain.

By doing this you have allowed the content to be found by Google which then assumes the pages are properly aged because it has been told by the webserver that the pages are in fact old (even though in reality you’ve recently created them).

By redirecting the subdomain you are then passing the inheritance and trust given to the subdomain by the main domain to the new site.

The reason this works is because the established site is already trusted by Google. Therefore the vote from the trusted site helps illustrate to Google that the new site is also trusted.

There are some things to consider with this tactic however:

Now that it’s been widely publicized I wouldn’t expect it will take that long for Google to realize the hole and patch it.

Also, the whole trustbox patent is based partly on authority but also on age. So while a page may appear old (because you’ve altered the page header served) Google may opt to instead consider the page’s age from the time it found the page. keyword elite

In other words, even if the page is a year old, if Googlebot just found the page yesterday then it’s only 1 day old. While the patent does say that “scoring the document based, at least in part, on the inception date corresponding to the document,” it also goes on to say that Google could determine that age to be not the page date, but the date when it found the page.

And remember that like any type of blatant manipulation you risk being penalized by Google. Google engineers also visit these forums, don’t forget, so they are also keenly aware when new tactics are shared which are designed to circumvent the current algorithms.

Therefore it is their job to fix those holes, and likely also find ways to penalize the sites taking advantage of the holes. While no one can prove or disprove this theory, I’ve heard of enough sites which have been removed from the index for doing something they weren’t supposed to. keyword elite work

Therefore, while this may sound like a great way to get yourself out of the ‘box early, consider the alternatives. What if you do get out of the index early but Google catches on in 3 months, 6 months or more? Do you think they may decide to “backdate” any changes to your site if they determine that you participated in such a tactic? Then, not only are you back where you started, you could be worse off than if you had just taken your lumps and done things properly.

How To Measure Keyword Density For Your SEO

June 16th, 2009

This article will guide you through the main myths around keyword density and SEO. Even though keyword density should be a part of your SEO efforts, there is a lot of confusion about what “density” is and how to apply it properly. Also, how much is density percentage is good? This will apply to both new and existing sites, and I am covering here what to know about keyword density.

There are 2 ways of calculating density.
The basic method consists of measuring the number of times a keyword appears on the page as a percentage of the total word count of that page. The complex method consists of measuring keyword density of the page plus the text components in meta tags: Title, Keywords, Alt Text, Description, and Comments. Most SEOs refer to the first method when talking about keyword density though. But, how do search engines measure keyword density? They actually use the complex method to measure it. I will explain later how to adjust to this.

Were should the keywords be used?
Diversify the density of your keywords in different areas of your page. Starting with the Title, and following with the beginning of the page, like in the headings, other sub-headings, and in the introductory paragraphs would certainly be of benefit. Every search engine algo is different, so you must choose an average keyword density that can make your site rank well in the top ten positions in the SERPs.

The importance of keyword density.
Keyword density can be very beneficial when done right, but it can also have a very negative influence when overdone. This is known as “keyword stuffing”. When you stuff keywords in your page, this will be detected and your site will get penalized for doing so. This could go as far as getting your entire site blacklisted from a particular search engine, if you are found keyword stuffing too many times.

There is no secret keyword formula.
No matter what you may think, or read on forums or even articles by such “SEO Gurus”, there is no secret formula for keyword density. There are, however, certain guidelines that need to be followed, and they are available to the public form the search engines themselves. Keywords density is one of most critical elements in SEO, and if you can master it you get higher rankings for your site.

So what is the right keyword density?
Your keyword density must be right to improve your search engine ranking. The “ideal” keyword density will always help to achieve high rankings. But how much is too much? If too low, you will not get the maximum benefits, if too high your site might get flagged as spam… Ok, there is no “one number fits all” here, but based on real case studies, the average top ranking Google site averages basic 1.9% keyword density. I wouldn’t go over 2%. This is an average value, and I am talking about basic percentages here, not complex. But it translates well to their complex values.

Free High Quality Traffic – Just Press Submit

June 15th, 2009

Imagine getting free high quality, targeted traffic to your website. How much would that be worth to you? What if you could get it for free?! Sound too good to be true? Its easy, and its free!

Imagine being able to promote your website, establish credibility and build a solid customer base just by pressing submit! You can get free publicity by writing articles that publishers can post in their newsletters or post on their website. By submitting your content to article directories, you can potentially reach tens of thousands of Internet users. If your article is good enough, you may find out that it gets published in an e-zine that is read by millions of subscribers across their network. How much would you pay for that kind of exposure? The good news, is that you don’t have to.

The key to finding success in article submission starts with and ends with your content. Not surprisingly, if your article is well written, and compelling, with an attractive call to action, you will get the results you are looking for.

Here are a couple of tips for you:

a) Keep the articles short. The average attention span of most internet users is short. If you write a long expose on your product, you’re likely to lose their interest. Keep the article to approximately 750 – 1000 words. If they are interested, your resource box will direct them to your site, where they can learn more.

b) Keep the article focused. Focus in on one tip or solution. Sell the reader on the idea that you can provide them with answers they are looking for. This will get them interested in visiting your site to see what other tidbits of information your site provides.

c) Keep It Simple. While you may be well versed in your product and solutions, you want to attract a wider range of potential customers. By keeping the article in simple terms, you can attract both the experienced and the novice to your solutions. Speak from your experience, which builds credibility with your reader.

d) Don’t gain the credibility and integrity you have built with the reader, only to lose it with grammatical and spelling errors. Have someone proof read your article.

e) Avoid selling. You have a website for that. Provide advice that has value based on your experience. This will entice the reader to go to your site to learn more. Avoid using affiliate codes within the body of your site, since this will make your advice look biased. Also, publishers want quality content. Sell them on the fact that you can provide solutions to their problems, not to the product you are pitching. Let your website do that when they visit you.

f) Work just as hard on your resource box as the rest of your article. Your resource box provides your chance to invite them to your site, which is how you will get instant, high quality, targeted traffic. Keep it to a maximum of 6 lines. Remember to link your keyword to your site. This will help improve your search engine rankings for that key phrase.

g) Before you submit: Follow the publishers guidelines. If you don’t follow the guidelines, its likely that you will find that your article will be deleted and an opportunity lost.

h) Use an attention grabbing headline. Like a sign in a store front that catches your eye, if you use an attention grabbing title, the reader will instantly want to know more.

There are several websites that will publish your articles. Go to Google and type in the words ’submit and article + your area of interest’. You may also want to consider purchasing Article Announcer which will help to automate this process. While it may appear expensive, this software package is worth it if you plan on submitting several articles to ezine directories.

Everything You Need To Know About Keywords In SEO

June 14th, 2009

Density and Prominence

Keyword density is a measure of how much emphasis (weight) a keyword is given within the content of a page. Most of the emphasis of a page is assigned to the text at the start of the page, at the end of the page and within these tags: , , , , and (up to 3 or 4 times).

Never waste a precious strong/em tag on content that isn’t a bunch of keywords. You can use CSS to achieve any visual effect you want. You should only use those tags to put emphasis on a keyword/key-phrase.

Keyword prominence is a measure of how important a word is within its context – in other words, how close it is to the beginning of the sentence. E.g.: the word ‘car’ is more prominent in ‘car sale London’ (at the start) than in ‘London car sale’ (at the end).

Keyword prominence and density are 2 concepts applied to every aspect of your website: URLs, headings, keywords, links, etc. Keep these 2 ideas in mind as you read through the rest of this article – they apply to absolutely everything.

Keywords/Key-phrases

A keyword is any word that accurately describes your content. A key-phrase is a combination of keywords. Stop words are those considered too ‘common’ or ‘vague’, which are ignored in search terms (with exceptions, but let’s leave it at that for this article). You may think they’re harmless since they’re ignored, but stop words can be seriously damage your SEO strategy by occupying a huge amount of keyword density and prominence within key-phrases in titles, headings, URLs, links, etc… Example:

Car sales in London = car sales has 50% density, 100% prominence Car sales London = car sales has 66% density, 100% prominence London car sales = car sales has 66% density, 66% prominence

When writing up key-phrases, try to write in a newspaper headline style and miss out common words such as ‘the’, ‘a’, ‘on’, ‘of, ‘in’, ‘you’, ‘me’, ‘he’, ‘it’, etc…

PS.: There are too many stop words in the English language so I won’t put a list here, but I do have a list if anyone wants it.

Keyword Ambiguity

Search engines are aware of these ambiguities so you’d only be shooting yourself in the foot if you tried to cover both. Take “xmas trees delivered ” and “christmas trees delivered ” for example. The word xmas never appears the site’s content, but pinesandneedles.com still ranks top for either of these 2 search phrases. I find this difficult to explain, but here’s why:(using xmas, christmas and some imaginary numbers)

When you are strict and avoid ambiguity: Let’s say that you only use “christmas” throughout the site, it ends up with a prominance of 10. (just some number to illustrate this example ). When a user searches for something with the word “xmas”, the search engines will consider both “xmas” and “christmas” equaliy, so you end up being a very likely match for their search.

When you go with the flow and cover every possibility: Let’s say you’ve used the words ‘xmas’ and ‘christmas’ equaly thorought the website and they each end up with prominance 5. (just some number to illustrate this example, but smaller than the number on the previous example ) When a user searches for something with the word “xmas”, the search engines will consider both “xmas” and “christmas”, but you are not as likely to match either, because you’ve distributed the prominence between 2 phrases.

When it comes to ambiguous words, it’s always best to leave the search engines to deal with it their own way. Just do your bit by being clear and consistent.

Explanation Of The Google Supplemental Index

June 14th, 2009

This article will guide you through the main reasons why pages get listed on this index, and most importantly, how to get them out. If you have an existing site, there is a high probability that you may have pages in the supplemental index, so use this as a reference, and make sure you follow the steps outlined here.

First of all, for those of you new to this topic.
What is the Supplemental Index? Here is the short answer… Google has actually 2 indexes, on call the “Main Index” and a secondary one known as “Supplemental”. One way to verify that you are looking at a supplemental result is that you can see “Supplemental Result” in green text on the bottom line of any given Google listing.

Why do pages move from main to supplemental?
There are many obvious, and some not too obvious reasons for this, but Duplicate Content and Non-Updated are the two main ones. A “too dynamic” url, in other words, with too many variables, or a page that is to deep in the site’s structure also accounts for this. A word of advice on linking: If you are doing excessive reciprocal links, link buying/selling or linking to spammy neighborhoods… stop! Google algorithms has very low trust in the inbound and outbound links of those sites.

Solutions to get out of the supplemental index.
Now that you know what this index is and why you don’t your pages in it, I will go over ways you can get them out, and back to were they belong, the main index. I will group them in pairs as they are co-related:
1. Duplicate Content and Content Quality. All your meta tags should be unique. All pages have common elements like navigation, footer, etc. Make sure your page have enough unique content to offset these elements, and that you are providing quality with as well.
2. Dynamic URLs and Site Structure. Keep all URLs as “static” as possible. Why passing 3-4 variables if there is a simpler way? And every page should be 2-3 clicks away from the home page, as far as the site structure. Please refer to Google Best SEO Practices – Part 4.
3. Your Internal Linking and Profile. Your sitemap, which is very important component of your internal linking, should include links to all the pages on your site, and it should be linked (normally in the footer) from every page. And your site’s overall link profile directly impacts the level of trust Google gives it, and since this affects the PageTrust, less trust often translates into more supplemental pages.

Again, like I said before, make it easy on Google, and they will make it easy on you

An Overview Of The Question, What Is Organic SEO? And How It Can Help My Business

June 13th, 2009

An Overview Of The Question, What Is Organic SEO? And How It Can Improve My Business

If I said to you “What is Organic SEO?”. What would you say?

Most people think ‘Organic’ is something which has been grown or maybe created ‘naturally’, without chemicals or anything ‘unnatural’ used in the development. And you would be correct.

So why is it difficult for people to understand that ‘organic search engine optimisation’ listings are any different? It simply means the search engine has positioned your listing where it believes your web site comes in terms of ‘value’ that has been fairly calculated using an algorithm, i.e. with no outside interference or influence. But what does ‘value’ mean in this sense?

The speculation of ‘value’ in this sense ultimately means, the search engine asks who is linking to your website and what is the value, of their link is and how significant they are. If they have a high page rank (PR), they are very significant in the ’search engines eye’s’. Then the search engine says. “Hey, you must really be critical as well, if they are linking to you. What happens?, You go up in the rankings consequently. SEO Organic

At least that’s the speculation, but before that happens, there are many different considerations, calculations and permutations to consider. Probably the best way to get your head around this is to think of it as a ‘level playing field’, as everybody has to start somewhere and everybody starts out equal, (but of course, some are more equal than others), but it’s what you do with that ‘playing field’ that really counts. You can stand on the side lines and cheer or yell abuse, or you can actually play the game and try and score a goal. Now that’s not a bad picture to have in your mind, as you start out with your strategy.

Your keyword can also be geographically based. For example, if you are a Motor Mechanic in Manchester, then organic seo techniques will revolve around the keyword ‘Manchester’ and this in turn, then becomes the main part of your strategy for your seo plan. Yes, it can be that localised. If you haven’t guessed by now, it’ all down to keywords. Now, here is where you need to do some research, because you cannot not just have “Manchester Motor Mechanic” as your keyword, just because you think it suits your selected niche. Why? Because nobody may be searching for those keywords, (or lets put it this way, there may not sufficient traffic may be generated with that keyword phrase for it to be viable in the first place). On the other hand, it may turn out to be a fantastic keyword and it may be successful for you, but you have to do your homework first!

The significant thing for you, is that not many companies have the know-how or knowledge that is needed to put together an ‘organic plan’, as a lot of companies ’still’ use techniques like keyword density, meta tags, keyword filling, internal linking etc. This is very much now the ‘old school’ way of thinking. Now seo has taken on a life of it’s own and is now playing an integral part of the modern way of business thinking.

Organic seo services involve a combination of different techniques like consumer psychology, digital media, site usability, semantics and analytics, as in very competitive markets, you need ‘an edge’ to stay ahead and endure the intensely fought competition for your selected keyword phrase and this is often time consuming. However, when it is used as it should be, it can be an incredible, cost effective way to give your business an indefinite long term and sustained flow of traffic (and of course customers), as opposed to pay per click (PPC), which requires you to pay for each and every click that comes to your website, regardless of whether it converts to business.

Research has proved that most customers prefer using ‘natural’ results, as opposed to paid or sponsored rankings, because seo lets customers find your website ‘naturally’.

Choosing the right company for your seo can be hard and also either the making or breaking of your business, so choose carefully, analyse the company and the expense before you sign up for their services. SEO Sheffield

How To Know Which SEO Software Tool Suits Your Search Engine Optimization Needs?

June 12th, 2009

Search engine optimization has become the most crucial element of ranking high in the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Altavista, Dogpile etc. There are several websites on the internet which boast about SEO techniques & tips and guarantee top placement in days. How do you believe and invest your hard earned money in a company who does not have a background in search engine optimization believing their claims?

The question is “are you ready to play a gamble with your site?” Honestly the answer would be a big NO.

No one would like to waste their money. So, what is the way out? How about doing your own search engine optimization? It is a very long drawn and tedious process if you do it manually. So, how to go about it?

Are there any softwares available to do the SEO?

Yes! there are several SEO softwares available in the market. But, how do you know which SEO software is reliable and meet your search engine optimization needs and most importantly, whether they would live up to their claims?

SEO software is the answer to implement the major SEO techniques. What are they? SEO is primarily divided into two parts.

• On page optimization
• Off page optimization

On page optimization

On page optimization involves:

• Title Tags
• Meta Tags like meta keywords (lost its importance now due to keywords abuse) & meta description.
• Alt-Image tags
• H1, H2 tags
• High keyword density
• Quality content
• Ease of navigation
• Internal Linking and more…..

Off page optimization

Off page optimization involves:

• Link Building to improve Link popularity
• Reciprocal Linking – Two way links
• Non-reciprocal linking – In-bound links
• Use of keyword rich anchor text in linking text
• Improving Google page rank
• PPC advertisements
• Directory submissions

It is a well known fact that off page optimization has more value than on page optimization. It does not mean that on page optimization has no value and requires no optimization. On page optimization has its value and should not be ignored.

There are several SEO softwares available to implement the off page optimization by improving link popularity by building both reciprocal and non-reciprocal links. There are websites which offer monthly membership accounts to use their Link Popularity software and some other websites have their software available for one time fee. For a beginner it is always better to go with one time fee software to keep the fixed expenses low. You are here to do business so you need to think and plan every dime you spend towards business success.

So, what to expect from a SEO software selling website?

• Not a one time seller without any future upgrades
• A website with good technical support
• A website with a proven track record
• A website with a forum with quality user feedback
• Most importantly these website’s SEO software should have good product reviews.

We see many SEO software companies doing their own product reviews and it looks more like self propaganda than an honest product review. We need websites who test and verify the claims made by the SEO software companies and publish their honest feedback. This would help the newbie website owners to make an educated decision after reading the detailed unbiased analysis published on a third party website.

There are very few websites that do this and should be encouraged to test and verify more of these SEO softwares and help the website owners to learn and implement the off page optimization techniques. This would save time and money of the online entrepreneurs to improve their link popularity and increase their search engine rankings. Higher search engine rankings bring more traffic to the websites and hence more sales. It is a known fact that we can drive visitors to websites but converting them into buyers totally relies on how effective is the content and ease of website’s navigation.

We should develop effective content in the form of relevant articles linking to your website. Writing an effective article is a skill which needs to be developed by reading other articles and other e-books focusing on writing best articles. Now we should know the list of quality article directories to submit to in the right category. This would be another tedious and time consuming process and this demands an SEO software whose sole aim is article submission to various article directories.

Submitting to SEO friendly directories is another tedious process but the rewards worth the effort involved. The list of SEO friendly directories and the article directories is available at http://www.seo-softwares.com/Resources.html

Another way of getting traffic to the website is thru PPC i.e Pay Per Click. There are several PPC programs available like Google Adwords, Overture PPC, FindWhat etc. Now the question is choosing the right keyword relevant to the content of your website is very important. You might choose the right keyword which is highly competitive and may have to pay a high bid price to get the higher placement in the sponsored links. We need an SEO software to optimize the adwords campaign to choose the right keyword combo to choose for the PPC. This would save money and time and helps beat the competition.

There are several other effective methods to do the off page optimization and there are several SEO softwares available in the market. So, in conclusion read the product reviews, and see the important features of the selling website as mentioned above for the final decision as which SEO software you should get your hands on.

Wishing you all success in your website’s search engine optimization.

Do I Really Have To Do Search Engine Submission?

June 11th, 2009

The real question is “do I really have to make money? And the answer is that yes, it is a fact that in this life you have to make money to survive (unless you want to do subsistence farming somewhere in the southern climes where you can grow food all year long). The fact is that if you are an internet marketer, and I am assuming that you are if you are reading about such an exciting subject like search engine submission, the only way that you get people to your site is by ranking well on the search engines. In order for those engines to rank you high you have to promote yourself and you have to do it in the right way that fits into their algorithm. Sounds easy right? Well part of it is and part of it is not at all.

The part that is easy is all the clicking and filling out of forms in the proper format and so on and so on. I say “easy” as in not requiring a lot of neuro synapses to do, not as in requiring little time and effort. You see this can be an incredibly tedious, mind numbing, and rate limiting process if you choose to do this all manually that is personally accomplish each keystroke and click of the mouse on each article for each search engine that you are submitting to. Well the smart guys as they were literally petrifying there brains with manual search engine submission were thinking, “there must be a better way.” Like everything else with computers automation is that better way and it turns out that this automation isn’t that hard to accomplish.

You see, now there are dozens of software packages that do just that. They will little input, other than file names and reorganization of the data you already have allow you to automatically accomplish the task of search engine submission, and not for just one search engine but for several at once—extremely powerful stuff. Sounds easy right? Your next question should be well why isn’t everyone making billions of dollars on the internet if all they have to do is buy a tool that costs a hundred bucks?

My answer is well there is another part of search engine submission that I already alluded to in the first paragraph of this article—that is the not so easy part. This is where the art of internet marketing comes in to play and where experience in this business makes all the difference in the world. You see the engines have algorithms that are maximally protected that decide what kind of information will rank high, how it should look, and how is should be organized. This changes too which makes it even more complicated. I really don’t even no much about this part but there are lots of guys who do and who charge (a very worthwhile price) for access to it. So get to it man!

Checking the rankings of your site in the search engines can become addictive. This is fine so long as you do not drive the person handling your seo work insane.

Driving Your SEO Professional Insane

What are the first words out of a search engine optimization professional’s mouth when talking to a potential client? This is going to take some time. Not only do we say this, but we tend to overestimate how long it is going to take. In addition to covering our butts, we say this to keep you from driving us insane.

As a client, you must show some faith in your search engine optimization professional. If you are told it is going to take a certain amount of time before rankings will appear, do not start checking them every morning. Okay, you can check them, but do not call me everyday! The more time I spend on the phone with you, the less time I have to work on your campaign. Patience is the word you have to focus on here.

A second method for driving your seo professional insane is the area of unwanted advice. This typically occurs when you read an article, book or see something on the television about search engine optimization. You may have the urge to tell us about it or ask for clarification. Why? Are you suddenly going to implement it in your site? If it is important, there is an excellent chance we already know about it. The optimization game changes all the time and we stay on top of it. Please resist the urge to call with little tidbits of information. If you want to learn how the process works, make sure to mention that at the outset of the relationship.

A third method for putting your seo person in a mental health clinic is daily ranking addiction. This occurs after rankings have been obtained for all or most of the desired keywords. You are so pleased with the situation, you review the rankings each morning. Inevitably, a ranking moves down. Your first step is to call us. This is maddening. In fact, we may not call you back because we know the rankings are just fluctuating a bit because of an update. A few days later, we call back and tell you the ranking is fine. Yes, this is done on purpose. Please do not call to inform us of changes in the rankings each day! Don’t worry, we will keep an eye on everything.

Your search engine optimization professional should be a valued part of your business family. Driving them insane is not a good way to treat a family member!
