Jason Fladlien

Interview with the creator of the “7 Minute Articles” – Part I

My name is Miguel Costa and in the next lines i’ll interview Jason Fladlien that is the creator of  “7 Minute Articles”, “48h Instant Reports”, “3 Hour Ads”, “InternetMillionaireRecipe” only to mention some of  his extraordinary and inspiring products.

Miguel Costa: How many springs had colored your days? What land saw your birth? And what have you done throughout your young life before you stumble(upon) the IM business?

Jason Fladlien: I was born in in the U.S., Iowa to be exact. I’m 26 and have lived there my whole life. Before I got into internet marketing, I was a musician trying to get people to come to my shows and buy my cds. That’s when I discovered marketing. Before I was a musician I was a monk. I’ve lived a pretty interesting life in my 26 years.

Miguel: Tell me what was the thing or situation that causes you the bigger frustration on your BIM (stands for Before Internet Marketing) and what thing gives you more pleasure and fullfilment now AIM (After Internet Marketing)?

Jason: As I mentioned previously, I was unable to get my music out there. I could barely bring in 70 people to a local show. I felt I was extremely talented, I worked very hard, and everybody who saw it liked it, but I just couldn’t grow. That led me to seek for a solution. I found out marketing is what drives people to shows.

I got hooked on marketing. Then I saw a sales page saying how easy it was to make money online. I figured I could just do the online thing part time and use that money to invest in my music business.

Of course it didn’t work that way. I couldn’t make dime one online, but I was hooked. So I decided to put the music aside for a few months to make this marketing thing work, more to say I could do it than anything. Then I started making a lot of money in it, fell in love with it, and now it’s what I do. :)

The biggest pleasures I get out of my internet marketing lifestyle is I get paid handsomely to help others. Not only does this mean I now have very few financial worries and the best job security in the world, but people tell me day in and day out how much I have improved their lives. Even their significant others email me and tell me how thankful they are to me because their husband or wife is so much better of a person after coming in contact with me.

Miguel: Do you think the IM business it’s all about extraordinary people that leverage their business ideas over the internet or it’s an awesome and endless potential business that could be developed by regular people since they fully commit themselves to learn and work until they reach sucess?

Jason: Internet marketing is about 80% guts and only 20% talents. I was lucky to have some innate skills that are helpful in internet marketing. I’ve always been a good writer, and I can usually pick things up very quickly, especially intellectual things. However, there are a lot of intelligent people with a lot of talent who can’t make it work online. Being ignorant and persistent will always bring in more success than being intelligent but lacking desire or focus.

The hardest obstacle for making money online is mind state. People are too scared to try new things and get outside of their comfort zone. The result is they keep getting the same results, which they are not satisfied with.

Miguel: Why it’s so important to find and engage with someone you can trust? And what’s more important? Trust Him/Her or trust Him/Her information?

Jason: Trust is a double edged sword. It reminds me of the biblical story where two people, both NICE, who built houses. One built on sand. His house fell down. It didn’t matter that he was nice.

You can trust an idiot and it won’t get you far. At the same time, it’s hard to commit yourself to even the best information if you feel you’re being worked over. The ideal solution is to find someone who is both trustworthy (runs their business without a lot of smoke and mirrors) and also deliver information that consistently gets good results.

In the end though, you have to learn to develop a razor sharp intuition, and then TRUST THAT above all else.

Miguel: The Marketers/Gurus/Mentors, etc. they all claim to be life changers. What makes them life changers? Their information (what they teach/trade) or their formation (what they are and their experience)? What makes them (Marketers/Gurus/Mentors) more trustworthy? What they teach or what their followers do with their teachings?

Jason: Habits are the difference between success and failure. And habits are more “caught” than “taught”. If you can get around someone who you can personally observe, that is invaluable. You’ll see their behaviors, and if you pay attention to those behaviors, you’ll be able to catch them and habituate them.

I do things in business most people would say are impossible… until they see me do them. Then that inspires them, and they go out and do something they previously thought they couldn’t. Then they grow as a person. And if they grow enough, their life will transform into something more wonderufl.

Miguel: “BUT I DIDN’T GIVE UP” [I (the interviewer) like so much this phrase] Do you think the secret to IM business success is that people must be patient enough to find the right information for them (the seeds), and than learn and act upon that information (plant and help the seeds to grow), and finally be commited and consistent until the day they start getting positive results over what they learn and build (harvest’n'profit)?

Jason: The secret is desire. I live by this code – I will either find a way or I’ll make one. There is always a solution if you look for one. The problem people has is they try one thing one time one way, and then when it doesn’t work, they shrug their shoulders and just give up, crawl in a fetal position and disappear.

It’s not a good day unless I run into 10 to 15 unanticipated obstacles a day. Otherwise, I’m not trying hard enough.

Miguel: Do you think people that want to grasp success on the internet marketing business must find their own and unique solution/business model or they can do quite well just by following other people proven success models?

Jason: A little of both. There are certain fundamentals in marketing that I use, that EVERY successful marketer uses. For example, I market more to my customer list than anywhere else. I use certain persuasion techniques to best communicate my value of my offers.

However, there is also a need for innovation. What you want is to find a market segment that is currently not be serviced, or being under-serviced, and then find a solution to give them what they want better than any else does.
